Purse Llama is fed up with trends, shopping magazines, “it” lists that clog your in-box, and all the millions of dollars that flush the streets of Paris every year trying to tell us how to dress, how to look, and what to buy. So we took a little Llama and we put it in our Purse. And it felt good.
Llamas made from Alpacas? What gives?
So you’re thinking, "Alpacas aren't actually Llamas, are they?". Okay, they’re like first cousins, but don't get hung up on the details here. Think of it like this: an Alpaca is like a Llama, only smaller, and way cooler. The Peruvian Alpaca Fluff we use is shorn and re-grown from Alpacas that get to die of old age, unlike say, any of these animals. Think Sheep. Just know that Peruvian Alpaca Fluff is better, but Llama is more fun to say.
We chose Alpaca for the Purse Llama for one simple, beautiful reason: we care. Unlike a hooven animal, the Alpaca’s soft padded feet reduce soil erosion. Their efficient digestion allows for lower feed levels and great compost, and Alpacas are camelids (in the camel family), consuming less water. See? You can't say the same thing about a Shih Tzus.

High in the mountain plains of Peru, Purse Llamas are lovingly hand made by local Alpaca herders from 100% genuine Peruvian Alpaca Fluff.
GIVING BACK
Since our product is exclusively hand-made in Peru, we have decided that it is necessary that we give something back. A percentage of every sale of a Purse Llama goes directly back to Peru, where we donate to Hogar De Esperanza , the "Home of Hope" Orphanage in Peru.
This charity is run day in and day out by a guy who went to Peru to try to do something good. There’s no red tape, bureaucracy, or layers of infrastructure. He just buys some poor street kids some sneakers and some food. Pretty simple. As it should be.
